While the team at Atlas Power Sweeping is committed to keeping roads and parking lots clean with quality power sweeping services, we are equally committed to supporting our community by assisting individuals in need; making contributions to various charities throughout the year. In addition to these contributions, we are proud to have hosted our annual Atlas Group Christmas Charity Drive for the past decade, raising funds for various charities and organizations, further supporting the community we work in.
Every Atlas Group Christmas Charity Drive presents our team with the opportunity to give back to our community through financial donations that are gathered and allocated to various charities such as the BC Cancer Foundation, the local Food Bank, and many other incredible groups. In addition to funds donated by employees, the Atlas Group matches all donations up to $3,000, allowing us to provide food for low-income families, toys for underprivileged children, and resources for cancer patients every year.
Our 2021 Christmas Charity Drive
Through our 2021 Atlas Group Charity Drive, our amazing team was able to raise $7,000 through voluntary employee donations and matching by the Atlas Group. These funds were then divided and allocated to the following charities:
Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows Christmas Hamper Society ($2,199.00) – The Christmas Hamper Society can provide each family with a certificate that allows the recipient to go shopping for fresh produce, juices, and other grocery items. In addition, each child up to age 18 will receive a generous toy/gift hamper worth $75.00 – $100.00. Each approved family will also have access to their second-hand store and each child will be able to choose a gift for their parent or guardian.
Friends in Need Food Bank ($2,218.00) – The Food Bank offers support to residents, schools, and charity organizations who require food supplies, providing food for school programs helps to ensure that no child goes hungry.
BC Cancer Foundation ($2,583.00) – The BC Cancer Foundation raises funds for research and care for BC residents affected by cancer.
Supporting the Community for Over 10 Years
In the first 3 or 4 years of hosting the Atlas Group Christmas Charity Drive, we bought and delivered all gifts personally. Through this, we saw the need firsthand: struggling immigrants and families in hardship that needed support. Some families would have tea and cookies out for our team when we dropped the gifts off while kids would make thank you notes which would arrive in January. These acts were never expected, but they were greatly appreciated by our team and solidified the importance of our annual charity event.
While it has become difficult to donate directly to individuals due to the number of donations we receive from employees, we now donate the funds to a variety of charitable organizations that help people directly.
With our Atlas Group Christmas Charity Drive and other donations, our total donations over the past 10 years have surpassed $80,000. With 10 years of support for our community behind us, we are looking forward to supporting those in need for many more years to come.
